As land conservationists, Friends of the Desert Mountains is dedicated to building a community of support to help preserve the unique wildlife and scenic beauty of the Coachella Valley. We acquire and preserve wildlands, promote stewardship of trails, and conduct educational programs for residents and visitors of all ages and abilities.
Friends’ “Environmental Connections por Vida” program focuses on youth education in eastern Coachella Valley. Friends conducts in-class visits to prepare students for educational field trips the following day, so we make the most of our time together. We introduce kids to desert flora and fauna, study our watershed, and teach them our 10 Essentials for desert hiking safety. When we take youth into natural areas, we follow their lead - allowing everyone time to connect to the land in their own way. We are proud to be inspiring the next generation of land stewards.

Lisa Lynn & the Broken Hallelujahs are respected and well-known musicians in the Coachella Valley and Joshua Tree music scenes. Repeat winners of the CV Music Award for Best Country Artist/Band, Lisa Lynn & the Broken Hallelujahs are a crowd favorite. The band describes its style as "y'all-ternative country, rock and soul."
